is a space & time specific movie projection in one of the walls
of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The movie is a sequence of
30 12 hours DVDs with a candle burning. This giant projected candle
burned slowly, consuming itself during the passing nights. Starting
Thursday December 9th 2005 its height had been reducing until December
31st when it was turned into its minimum expression. That night (New
Year’s Eve) at midnight, a human hand entered the frame to light
another full size candle and place it over the old one. This new candle
burned for a few more days (very slowly) until the first days of January
when the piece was removed. |
