This work
has been specially developed for the Cultural Center of the private
village "Estancias del Pilar". The access to this village
is restricted through several watchman huts with barriers.
This closed community project in the outskirts of Buenos Aires (including
housing, schools, clubs, churches, shops and everything else what a
village needs) has been shaped in form of a model of 3x3 mts. which
is situated in one of the community buildings. This community building
is also represented in the model next to a square and three other important
buildings - the actual buildings finished up to that moment - and forms
2% of the model´s real size. For means of the installation the
light in the hall where the model is situated is darkened and a multimedia
tube amplifier is put there with its focus upon those three model buildings
and the square. Images of the real square are projected on the model
in real time, using the respective scale and angle. This way one can
see a projection of ghostly images on the model´s surface, images
of the persons who are actually walking on the square until they enter
into the building where the installation is working. The hall is provided
with pinewood fragrance in order to give the idea of a "new"
place.
Before entering the exhibition hall all visitors are checked by a private
security watchman.
