description

This installation is specifically designed for hall 1 of the Centro Cultural General San Martin; a staircase which connects 4 small rooms plays the leading role in this space. On the ground floor the spectators come across a poster with an image, a plan, a short text, a sound track with a combination of mantras of different religions, incense fragrance, dimmed lights and a guard who invites the visitors to look for a human figure reflected in a mirror which has been put at the stairwell. As the spectators go upstairs, they come across empty spaces with incense smoke lines illuminated in a delicate way and ascending along with the sound track rhythm. On arriving on the last mezzanine the visitors meet with a text and the image of 2 human silhouettes projected on a marble wall. At the same time as the visitors approach the wall, their shadows join the 2 silhouettes although they would never reach the same scale.
